We are an Eco Church. We belong to A Rocha UK’s award scheme for churches in England and Wales who want to demonstrate that the gospel is good news for the earth, which at present is under such huge environmental pressures, leading to climate change.  

The vision is for churches of all denominations to care for creation as an integral part of loving our neighbours and following Jesus faithfully.

So we are considering our worship and teaching, our buildings, our community and global engagement and our personal lifestyles. We are further on in this consideration in some areas than others.

We have changed almost all our lighting to LED. We use environmentally friendly paper and paper towels. We are working to make our heating system more efficient. We are challenging each other to review our personal lifestyles, including how we travel to church.  

We have been given a Silver Award by the A Rocha organisation for our progress so far, and are working towards a Gold award.
